French DGCCRF Regulations

As a member state of the European Union, France has established its own national food-grade regulations, Decree No. 2007-766, in addition to complying with EU-wide food contact material regulations. To facilitate public understanding and implementation of France's food contact material requirements, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) has issued a guidance document, DGCCRF Notice 2004-64, to support the enforcement of relevant mandatory regulations. Although this guidance document does not carry legal force itself, the interpretations, recommended testing standards, and methods provided in the notice are widely recognized and adopted in practice.
